Hashimu Adamu
Hashimu Adamu is an accomplished youth development strategist and governance advisor from Nigeria, currently serving as Senior Technical Assistant to the Secretary-General of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL). His expertise lies at the intersection of public policy, international cooperation, and youth leadership, where he has designed and executed several forward-looking initiatives to empower young people to influence governance at all levels.
Hashimu is celebrated for his ability to translate bold ideas into actionable policy, having led high-impact campaigns such as #SheVotesToo, #DemocracyConvening, and #TimeIsNowAfrica. These initiatives have mobilised young voices, increased civic participation, and shaped democratic discourse across Nigeria and the wider continent. He represents Africa as an inaugural member of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Generational Justice Youth Network, where he contributes to global youth-centered justice reform and anti-corruption strategies. His numerous awards and fellowships, including the Nigerian Prize for Leadership, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Open Minds Young Voices, and the Chatham House Common Futures Conversations, testify to his leadership, intellectual rigor, and social impact.
